Run - Illustration Friday
This is my submission for http://www.illustrationfriday.com this week. I had a hard time thinking of something to go with the word "run" then I remembered one of my favorite sayings "runs with scissors" and thought of a naughty girl with a dunce hat since she is unable to follow the rules!
The Shipping Room
This is the shipping room . . . I love the way it is set up now. Shelves with all the pattern pieces and a TV are in front of the table - you can't see them in this photo. Now patterns can be stuffed while watching TV - makes a very boring job so MUCH better! Check it out - this table has wheels too! We may have wheels on everything pretty soon seems like a great idea to me!

A New Table on Wheels!
Look at this great new table my friend gave me. It did start a four day frenzy of organization and change - so should I thank her or not? Just kidding I love it - thank you Cindy! I will be using it for a cutting table and there are even two stools so I can have a friend visit and stitch while I work - want to come over and play? There are still lots of things to do to make my workspace more efficient but it is ready for cutting out two quilts so I can start sewing today . . . After I finish a day of cutting and sewing I will post photos of the newly revamped shipping room as well as the rest of the workroom . . . it is starting to look very good! It is so much easier to work when things are tidy! Now I am off to cut out those quilts. Have a great day

It is pouring rain with lots of thunder and lightning - Axel and Hailey (aren't they adorable?) are wondering what is going on. It is dark and pleasantly cool almost makes you want to curl up in front of a fire. NOT! However it does make me want to start sewing. I am going to work on blocks for two quilts for new patterns. Will post photos of them as soon as the first few blocks are done. These will be sort of a summer workshop series or at least that is the plan. Any ideas for some fun summery names for patterns?

Workshops at the Country Loft in La Mesa, CA
August 11 & 12
What could be more fun? Visit with some darling ladies while they sew, eat some treats, go for some yummy Mexican food, visit again with more darling ladies while they stitch, shop for fabric and antiques all the while being treated like a princess. You just can't have any more fun than that! If you haven't been to the Country Loft www.cloft.com make sure it is at the top of your list when visiting the San Diego area. Thank you to each of one of you for taking my classes and to Sharon, Kathy and JoAnn thank you for inviting me. The Country Loft is the BEST!

This is my first effort for Illustration Friday . . . I was inspired to start doing this exercise by Claudine Hellmuth www.collageartist.com I have followed her blog for the last few months and last week I took two workshops from her at Art Unraveled. She is such a bundle of inspiration and energy - I really enjoyed spending two days with her. THANK YOU Claudine - you are a real life doll! Good luck on your taping tomorrow.
Now it is nose to the grindstone start working on new patterns in earnest because here I am just like always sort of behind the eight ball! YIKES - quilt market is only nine weeks away!
All the best, Renée
